Event Details

3 Bands starting at 9p in the Back Bar:

9 – Cairo Knife Fight
10 – The Absurd
11 – Hydro Kitten

Cairo Knife Fight
Description: Industrial Stoner Rock duo originally from New Zealand where they’ve toured with Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Karnivool and more. Also their guitarist is a founding member of the black eyed peas and wrote Let’s Get it Started. This fun fact is really only interesting when you hear how not-black eyed peas this band sounds.
They just dropped a new album this past month which you can hear here:

The Absurd
Bio: The Absurd is a true power trio, firing thunderous riffs, deep grooves and earworm hooks at audiences with equal capacity. One publication has called them “Queens of the Stone Age meets Jeff Buckley” (throw in some Radiohead, Pearl Jam & Jack White and you’re halfway there) while another has stated that The Absurd “makes me want to drop something heavy”.

In the past year The Absurd has ascended from nothingness into being, and is now known around Los Angeles for their electrifying live shows, constant songwriting output and relentless gigging earning positive notes from publications like BuzzbandsLA & Music Connection Magazine. The Absurd capped off a wild summer with two performances at Echo Park Rising 2017 and is presently in studio working on their latest release, all the while storming the city with their unique and explosive live shows.

We recently dropped a live album which you can hear here and eventually on Spotify whenever our distributor decides to do their job:

Hydro Kitten
Description: Hypnotic, groove based psychedelic rock with a grunge twist. Fronted by enigmatic singer/songwriter Sarsten Noice, the band’s layered arrangements and harmonies transform the groups many influences into something unique and fresh. Having been given rave reviews from blogs such as for their powerful live performances, including a notable set at Echo Park Rising, Hydro Kitten has quickly become one of LA’s hottest up and coming acts.
